App Pinning

App pinning is an Android feature that locks the device screen to display a single application, preventing users from accessing other apps, the home screen, or system settings. When pinned, the device becomes dedicated to that one application for the duration of the session.

How App Pinning Works

Users can manually pin an app through the recent apps menu, or administrators can enforce pinning through MDM policies. When active, the app fills the screen and users cannot navigate away using the back button, home button, or app switcher. Exiting the pinned state typically requires administrative intervention.
