Android Device Owner

Android Device Owner is a management mode within Android Enterprise where an MDM platform has full administrative control over the entire device. This mode is designed for company-owned devices where the organization needs comprehensive management and security enforcement.

Full Device Control

In Device Owner mode, the MDM has complete authority over the device. This includes the ability to set policies for all users, restrict system settings, control app installation, enforce encryption, manage accounts, and perform remote wipe if needed. The device is managed as a whole rather than individual work profiles.

Enrollment and Setup

Device Owner enrollment typically occurs during initial device setup (zero-touch enrollment) or through manual enrollment by an administrator. Once a Device Owner is established, no other MDM can be enrolled on that device, ensuring single-authority management.
